Poem: You Will Never be loved again (Old Man)

Old Man
by Me

You will never be loved again,
Like you were when you were young.
When hearts have no limit or depth
and thought is not your concern.
Full and pure, free and freely given.
We loved each other with our all.

I remember young love
-sometimes too clearly.
While the earth revolves around the sun
and years acumulate
We learn to love,
anew.
Through darkened glass
and filtered lense.
Through wishes, desires, fears, and thoughts.
Trickles of love
emerge to touch
The budding dew of another.

Old love starts as pure as young,
but gains momentum slowley.
From two of hurt, to one of trust,
is longer than expected.

Yet through this battle
comes a dove
aperch on bloody gore.
A love as pure as that of youth,
but battle's made it more.
